Annual Winter Food Drive 2017

  |   Community

“We continue to be amazed at the generosity of members of our local communities” – Jarod Mills, Sales & Marketing Manager at Parklea.

As a developer of communities, we feel it’s important to give back and support local initiatives that help the most vulnerable.

This year, locals generously donated much needed food to families in crisis throughout July and August via collection points at Parklea’s Arena Shopping Centre and Timbertop Estate.

All donations went to The 4C’s a Pakenham based charity that support families with food, shelter, counselling, life skills training and financial relief. The 4C’s have in one year successfully steered the donation of over 500 tonnes of food, largely contributed by local community initiatives.

The 4C’s General Manager, Cheryl Daly was overwhelmed by the public’s response to the drive and said the food would bring hope to people who are struggling to provide the basic necessities for their families.

The Winter Food Drive is just one of the many initiatives run by Parklea to support individuals in the community including the Christmas Gift Drive which will run again later this year and provide gifts to disadvantaged children.
